Visa for Marines in Transit

Short-term visa Schengen allows you to make trips for marines in transit, tourism, business, family visits and studies with a duration of less than 90 days, as well as airport or terrestrial transits.

These visas qualify for transit or for stays in the territory of Spain and the rest of the Schengen States.
Dominican citizens need a visa to enter and stay in Spain. For their concession it will be necessary that they comply with the entry requirements in the Schengen Area.

The above mentioned Visa Fees is to be paid only by cash.

Note: Exemption of Visa Fee for a child is applicable only in the case of Short Term category, if the child's age is less than 6 years at the date of submission.

BLS International Service charge

Applicants applying at the Spanish visa application Centre shall be levied a service charge of 1,040.00 DOP /- payable in cash. Children under 6 are exempted from service charge.

  • The fee is non-refundable
  • In relation to article 16 of EU Regulation 810/2009, there are certain categories of visa applicants who are exempt from paying the fee. You can check these exemptions at the link on this page.
REQUIREMENTS FOR VISAS FOR MARINES BOATED IN NON-SPANISH VESSELS

Original and copy of the visa application form "Schengen", duly completed.

Passport valid for 12 months at the time of the application, with at least two blank pages and a copy of the complete passport, as well as copies of the pages containing previous visas

Letter of invitation from maritime agencies addressed to this Consulate and endorsing such requests. In the case of being Spanish maritime agencies, they must state the name and address of the agency of the country of origin of the seafarer with whom they collaborate. In this letter, the following information must appear relative to seafarers, in the case of several can be listed in a list, duly signed and stamped:

  1. Name and surnames of the sailors.
  2. Nationality
  3. Date and place of birth
  4. Number, date of issue and period of validity of the passport and the naval book.
  5. Employment of the seafarer on the ship on which he will embark
  6. Name and flag of the vessel
  7. The date and the airport of entry into Spain, or where applicable, in any other country whose representation is granted by Spain.
  8. Sea port of embarkation in Spain, length of stay of seafarers on the ship, maritime port of disembarkation of sailors, date of return to the country of origin of seafarers, itinerary that sailors will follow to travel to Spain and to Return to your country of origin.

Employment contract duly signed and stamped.

Medical certificate for maritime issued by the Social Institute of the Navy, or assimilated body in Dominican R., which certifies that the interested party is suitable for boarding (according to rule I / 9 of the annex of the STCW Convention and section AI / 9 of the STCW code).

Referral to this Consular Office by the police stations of the border posts (airports and seaports) of the form that appears in ANNEX IX of the Visa Code (printed for seamen in transit subject to the visa requirement).

The Consulate may request from the applicant any additional documentation deemed necessary for the decision on the granting of the visa.

* The documents must be presented in original and copy, when the original document is not provided, a certified copy must be provided. All documents are valid for three (3) months (unless the same document indicates a shorter term).

* The granting of the visa is not a right of the applicant, any disbursement made related to the requirements for obtaining documents and certificates does not condition the Consulate its issuance.

* The Consulate will carry out the evaluation of the visa with the documentation presented, it will be in the interest of the applicant to contribute all that he / she considers necessary for its concession.

Warning: We are sorry to be unable to accept any photographs that do not meet the following requirements

Provide a recent photo of yourself (no more than 3 months old) that has not been previously used in the passport. The photograph must be in color and:

  • It must be taken so that the facial features and face contrast with the background are distinguished.
  • It should be clear and show the face focused.
  • Must be printed on normal photo quality paper.
  • The face should be completely unmasked (without sunglasses, hats / caps or any other attachment that covers it unless the applicant carries these for religious or ethnic reasons)
  • Must adhere to the application.

Warning: Please follow these instructions carefully. The photographs presented must coincide with the biometric photograph, if not similar, its application will be considered incomplete. The application center has a photographic booth that meets these requirements and guarantees accuracy in the process.

Applications submitted at the Visa Application Center for Spain will be delivered the next (working) day at the Spanish Embassy or Consulate General of Spain. Once the application has been submitted, additional documentation may be requested from the applicant. Note that, according to the instructions received by the Embassy of Spain, the minimum processing period will be 15 calendar days (this period may be delayed up to 45 days in cases where it is necessary to make a more detailed examination of the application).

To prevent delays in the processing deadlines, applications must be submitted at least 30 days before the date scheduled for the start of the trip.

The processing deadlines start counting from the day following the delivery of the application in BLS International Services.
