Update on Passport Collection
The Consulate General of Spain in Santo Domingo has implemented an update to the passport collection procedure at the Visa Application Centre.
From now on, third-party collection will not be permitted, except in the following authorized cases:
- Immediate family member (parents, children, or siblings)
- Group representative, on behalf of all group members
- Representative of the Spanish General State Administration, duly authorized through an official letter from the corresponding department
- Company representative, authorized through a letter on company letterhead and presenting an official ID
In these cases, the authorized person must present:
- A copy of their official identification document
- The original application receipt
- A signed authorization letter from the applicant
Courier Service
Applicants who do not wish to collect their passport in person and do not have an authorized representative meeting the above requirements must purchase the courier service at the time of submitting the visa application.
- Delivery will be made to the applicant’s home or workplace address
- Alternatively, the passport may be collected at any MBE (Mail Boxes Etc.) office, if this option was selected at the time of application
- The full delivery address must be indicated in the cover letter
- If no specific address is provided, the address listed in the visa application will be used
- The address provided cannot be that of a travel agency
- The courier service is optional and only required if the applicant does not collect the passport in person or through an authorized representative.
