Overview

Visa for Seamen allows you to stay a maximum of five days in the Schengen area, prior to travelling onwards to a country located outside the borders of the Schengen area.

Visa Fees

Note: Exemption of Visa Fee for a child is applicable only in the case of Short Term category, if the child's age is less than 6 years at the date of submission.

BLS International Service charge

Applicants applying at the Spanish visa application Centre shall be levied a service charge of 1,040.00 DOP /- payable in cash or by credit card. Children under 6 are exempted from service charge.

  • The fee is non-refundable
  • In relation to article 16 of EU Regulation 810/2009, there are certain categories of visa applicants who are exempt from paying the fee. You can check these exemptions at the link on this page.

Documents Required

REQUIREMENTS FOR STAY VISA

Original and copy of the visa application form "Schengen", duly completed.

Passport valid for 6 months at the time of application, with at least two blank pages and a copy of the complete passport.

2 photos 2 x 2 on white background

Reservation of round trip flight.

Accreditation of accommodation in Spain (hotel reservation or invitation letter from the Spanish Police, in case you are staying with friends or relatives)).

Accreditation of economic means: {Order PRE/1282/2007. BOE 11/05/2007}.

For your support in Spain, prove the daily amount of 90 euros, multiplied by the number of days you intend to stay and by the number of people traveling at your expense. Said amount will in any case amount to 810 euros per person (90% of the gross SMI), regardless of the number of days you travel.

Medical insurance for individual or collective travel with Schengen conditions. It must cover all the time of stay, and cover the possible expenses of repatriation, emergency medical and hospital care, and the transfer of the mortal remains in case of death, with a minimum coverage of 30,000 euros.

Copy of the identity card.

Accreditation of work placement. Documentation that may be presented: Work agreement, TSS certificate (Social Security in Dominican Republic) which shows the time worked for the different companies, the salary received and the mandatory contribution for SS purposes; or RNC if you are the owner of any company, as well as a copy of the PSI-1 model sworn statement of simplified procedure based on income issued by the General Directorate of Internal Taxes in R. Dominica.
Documentation that proves that you are studying and that you are dependent on your parents (if you are a student).

Additional documents according to your case (titles of property, power of attorney of authorization to travel for minors, bank accounts, marriage certificate if the spouse is covering the expenses of the trip, etc.)

The Consulate may request from the applicant any additional documentation deemed necessary for the decision on the granting of the visa.

* The documents must be presented in original and copy, when the original document is not provided, a certified copy must be provided. All documents are valid for three (3) months (unless the same document indicates a shorter term).

* The granting of the visa is not a right of the applicant, any disbursement made related to the requisites required for obtaining documents and certificates does not condition the Consulate its expedition.

* The Consulate will carry out the evaluation of the visa with the documentation presented, it will be in the interest of the applicant to contribute all that he / she considers necessary for its concession.

Provide a recent photo of yourself (no more than 3 months old) that has not been previously used in the passport. The photograph must be in color and:

  • It must be taken so that the facial features and face contrast with the background are distinguished.
  • It should be clear and show the face focused.
  • Must be printed on normal photo quality paper.
  • The face should be completely unmasked (without sunglasses, hats / caps or any other attachment that covers it unless the applicant carries these for religious or ethnic reasons)
  • Must adhere to the application.

Warning: Please follow these instructions carefully. The photographs presented must coincide with the biometric photograph, if not similar, its application will be considered incomplete. The application center has a photographic booth that meets these requirements and guarantees accuracy in the process.

Processing Time

Applications submitted at the Visa Application Center for Spain will be delivered the next (working) day at the Spanish Embassy or Consulate General of Spain. Once the application has been submitted, additional documentation may be requested from the applicant. Note that, according to the instructions received by the Embassy of Spain, the minimum processing period will be 15 calendar days (this period may be delayed up to 45 days in cases where it is necessary to make a more detailed examination of the application).

To prevent delays in the processing deadlines, applications must be submitted at least 30 days before the date scheduled for the start of the trip.

The processing deadlines start counting from the day following the delivery of the application in BLS International Services.
